Thumbs up Chip Keys

I found out today that my local walmart makes chip keys for $50.00. That is way cheaper than the Ford dealer who quoted me $150 about a year ago.

I can then get a 2nd working key and then get my blank chip key cut and program that myself so I won't have to get ripped off again if I ever lose one.

I Got a pats key off ebay for $12 and paid a local key cutter $3 to cut it. Problem is I have only one original key and still have to go to a dealer to get the pats reset so I can program a third key on my own.

Or, you can see if your local walmart has the same set up as mine and will get you a 2nd working key for $50.00. Then you can program your 3rd key yourself.

How can walmart program a pats system? If you only have one original key you will have to access a coder to rest the pats system to accept the ne 2nd key.

They now have whatever they need to program the key to your car. Ace Hardware advertised the same thing except they want $80 to do it.

$50 would be a good price to program a pats sytem, I think the dealers want close to $100 just to reset the pats system.

Exactly, that's why I never got a 2nd key made.

walmart keys suck. i've had several bad experiences with them and the crappy cuts made. i wouldnt dare trust them with a chip/programmer.
