400-450, if you're easy on them. There are freaks and weak links, like anything else. I toasted a 3650 with 50k miles and 250hp.....

I have had problems with shifter forks (particulary 3rd gear) with just full bolt ons.

I bent mine with only around 58K...but I bought this car with 39K so I don't know if its ever been replaced.

Now I realize this isn't blowing up a tremec 3650 from high HP.

I'm guessing you are asking because it is for racing...or no? If it is not beaten at the track, it should be fine with a power adder of some sort (300-400hp). Most times it is power shifting and beating on a tranny that does the in, no matter whether its a t-5, t-45, or 3650. If it is for racing, then that is another ball game and something I def. do not have experience with. (although it seems that people complain more about the 3650s than the 45s)

Once you get over 400hp you are on borrowed time as far as the internals of the factory trans, but for the most part like others have said, trans failure is mostly due to operator error and/or abuse. Personally I dont care if my friends call me a pu$$y for not powershifting at the track, they arent the one's that have to spend the money to replace something if it breaks. I speed shift, and dont really see the point in powershifting, especially because I only run 1/8 mile track, the time difference is hardly worth the 3k+ to replace/fix a trans.

The weak links are the input shaft, and the syncros... the actual internals of the transmission hold something like 750rwhp, with 26spline input, carbon syncros, and a few other minor things.

Ill be testing the limits of the stock trans very soon. We will see how it holds up but at one time I did have it on the dyno and we put about 550wtq through it and didnt break anything. Going back for a full tune looking for around 600whp and similar torque. Ill be using this trans as long as possible. I like the gear spacing on the highway. It does not slow down in 5th with my combo. It does grind gears though especially the reverse so I dont like that at all.
