Im turboing my 97 Cobra Need some advice!

Built... meaning Manley Forged Rods and Pistons, comes with ARP rod bolts and bearings. I can put the motor together myself ---->ASE tech The crank is Fored from the factory as YOU should know. O and I said built motor correct? Not Built Short block built by someone else!

This is why I think you should have to pass a test before you are aloud to post on here. There is no restriction to the motor whatsoever with a turbo besides a tiny bit of back pressure. A roots style supercharger builds boost instantly. Piston speed goes from cruising to red line ridiculously fast. Whereas a turbo will gradually build boost and progressively increase piston speed. It's a wasted energy turned into power. Why do you think superchargers make less power lb. for lb. Also go turn a supercharger and then a turbo, whether journal or bb, then make your call.

Centrifugal superchargers are very fixed, they work off of a very linear power curve and build boost progressively.
Of course a turbo is more efficient but I don't recall that being the argument. In my experience I've seen many more, well tuned, turbo cars take out engines then there supercharged counterparts. At least a 3:1 ratio.

il bet you see more turbo cars break because its easier to get greedy and increase the boost in comparison to a blower car where its not just a turn of a ****.
to the op i hit about 8 lbs around 3800 rpm start building boost at 2800 (h1e turbine a/r is a little big). im expecting over 380 horses but havent had it dynod nor at the track yet.

Yea I heard those t70 (61mm or 66mm) spool really fast! The hx40 is not a bad choice either. VERY reliable! How long have you been boosting? Im sure evan 6 psi would be fun! Anyway to get a speedo shot of your car? Thanks LIVEFAST!

yea the hx40 is just the predecessor of the h1e i have now and for 176 bux i CANNOT COMPLAIN, and im kinda just waitin on the track to open although i have ran her pretty hard hopin to trap over 112. havent driven it much since i got a negligent driving ticket and a burnout ticket but i just found out the cop LIED to me and told me negligent was 3 points but its actually only 1 (drivers improvement told me, internet told me, and a few cop buddies) so il stop being so discouraged and drive it more. o and i just did the build over the spring and managed to blow the clutch out already so im guessing its making pretty good power (put a spec 3 in it).
