Default changing motors

I have a 99GT 4.6 and i am wanting to change to a 99 cobra motor and my question is will the headers and the manifold off the gt motor fit the cobra motor? and will the tranny interchange? and is the crank and pistons in the 99cobrs motor forged.if not will they have to be changed to run a turbo or supercharger.THANKS

I am by no means an expert. However, I am pretty sure that GT headers will not fit the 4v. The tranny should work and I don't think the block is forged. I'm not 100% though

the exhaust ports on the cobra engine are oval and circular on the gt. the bolt pattern is the same so it is possible to put cobra headers on a gt and vice versa but you would have and exhaust leak. your x/h pipe on your gt will bolt up to the cobra exhaust manifolds as well. the 99 cobra engine has a forged crank but not not forged pistons/rods. you dont have to change them if you put a turbo or blower but you will be limited to the 400whp range before you have to worry about breaking them.just depend how much power you want or how much $$$ u got.the t45 tranny in your car will bolt up too. good luck on your swap.

intake manifold will not work either. and you will also need to get a cobra throttle cable, cruise control cable, coolant hoses, and reverse the polarity to your coil over plugs.
