Question low oil pressure

i have a 96 gt with the stock 4.6 2v. all stock except exhuast. motor has around 130,000 on it.

i have barely any oil pressure showing on my guage. change sending unit with no change. every once an awhile it show good oil pressure, even before the sending unit change. oil looks like normal break down when i change it.

my ? is. is it the guage or the oil pump?

It is a possibility it is the gauge, or wirring from the guage to the sending unit. Also how low is it actually going because if you're sinking below 15psi you would probably start to hear some head tick from lack of oil. If so could be possible that you're bottom end is starting to get a little weak. When a bearing goes bad u might not see some metal in the drained oil theres a chance the filter caught the majority of it, if you have an old filter cut it open and take a close look at it.

Does it happen when it's cold? My gauge will be completely to the left when I start the car in the morning if it's around or below freezing. I really hope nothing is wrong but when the car warms up for a while it stays where it should be.
