Default Oil for guys with S/C

So I'm at the 4k mark with the built shortblock and that's the point of possibly going with synthetic oil but I chose not to because running 13psi you are gonna get blowby especially with synthetic oil, catch can or not! So I'm sticking with the good old dino oil (Castrol GTX) however it was brought to my attention that dino oil does not have the extra additives (zinc, ect.) that it used too (Matt at Performance Evo. told me this) so in lieu of that I am going to use this from comp cams. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...p?part=cca-159
Gives you all the extra additives that dino is now lacking and can be used at every oil change!

yea usually you hear about people wiping camshaft lobes out because of the lack of zinc, regular bearings and rollers should be alrite. the flat tappet camshafts need the zinc because they would be the only part of the engine that is metal to metal.

It's not just zinc it's several other additives that are now missing from dino oil that that Conp cam additive has

I believe that Engine restore additive that they sell at advance puts the exta additives back in. It costs about the same for a v8 can, but atleast you can get it locally when you get your oil.
