Low fuel light on with full tank of gas
Well I went for a drive to the store a few blocks up, everything was fine. But when I got in my car a few minutes later and started it up, the low fuel light was on and my gauge was on Empty. But my tank was full 5 seconds ago, from filling up yesterday.
Any ideas what this could be? Is it gonna be a big deal or a simple fix? Also when I parked the car and pressed the lock key twice so it honked, I noticed the honk sounded different. Could this be related? |
Maybe the float connected to the gauge got stuck inside the tank? Are all your other gauges/electrical okay?
|
maybe its ur battery if your honk sounded different...idk...just a suggestion
|
the honk sounds differant if a door or the trunk is open
as for the fuel, top it off just to be sure, but it sounds like your sending unit in the tank is starting to not like you. |
All other gauges are fine. I even did the gauge test by holding the odometer button down. And all the gauges worked fine, including fuel.
I know that when the door is open, the horn honks twice. But today the horn actually sound different, almost like it was muffled. And I am positive the tank is just below full. I topped it up yesterday and haven't driven more than a few blocks. The gauge was also reading correctly abut 10 minutes before hand. |

Nobody panic, it seems to have fixed itself. I went out and started my car the next day, and it worked fine...
