00 GT definitely......better engine, better looking mustang, IMHO.

i like the looks of the 98, and it has a 5 speed, but the 00 has a more powerful engine tough choice, but i would go with the 2000 its newer.

Get the 00' auto, Then add a shift kit, stall converter, and gears, and all the other bolt-on and you will be glad that you have the auto!!!!! You will be beating up on all the guys with the 5 speeds if you set up that auto trans.

dont get either....in my opinion

the first thing you need to do is make your mind up if you want a 96-98, or a 99-04 for sure

i would get the 99-04 just because of the power issue, some people will say otherwise, but just test drive both,, ONLY with 5-speeds...

then look around for something you really like and can afford

but i wouldnt get a theft recovery car.. even if he says he only had to repaint or something,, if i were a theif, nad took out a 00GT i would destroy it,, mechanically speaking....

good luck though either way

Look for a 99-04 5 speed Dont get an auto like someone in Naples (hello C.T.) you have to put more money in to get the same results. 5 speed is much more fun to drive if you ask me. and the 99-04 have more power
