Aftermarket alarm problem.

Aftermarket alarm problem.
Ok so here goes. I bought my 04 GT used from a Ford dealership 2 years ago. Everything is fine and dandy until yesterday morning when I got to get into the car I notice a read flashing LED light on the steering column right under the steering wheel tilt lever. Its so small and inconspicuous that I never even knew it was there. The car starts normally so when I get to work I call the dealership and they tell me that its an aftermarket alarm and if its not causing any trouble to leave it alone. So today when I leave from work when I turned the key the horn started honking and the car wouldn't start. So now I have to tow the car in Monday. When I bought the car I paid some kind of fee ( I can't remember exactly what it was called) for them to check everything out. Obviously they didn't. If you're still with me here's my question. Has anyone had a similar experience? How hard is it to remove the damned alarm? Come Monday morning there's going to be some hell raised at the dealership if they try to **** with me.

Sounds like the alarm might have bypassed or somehow screwed with the PATS system our cars have. When it didn't start, did it crank and just not fire? Or did it not crank at all?
Also, does your car normally have the theft light blinking at all times when the engine is on? Or did this only happen when alarm/horn was going off and it didn't start?

I had an aftermarket alarm installed on my 04 and had tons of trouble with it. I had two different installers take a look at it and after about 6 different solutions, none of them worked. Basically the alarm would not work independently or joined with the stock alarm. Literally the alarm would go off every 30 minutes when the car computer went into "sleep" mode. I ended up having them remove it and set me back to stock settings.
