hey guys so i am replacing my head gaskeys, so far i have the manifold off, planning on taking the heads off sometime in the next week, i also want to replace the valve seals as well

is it easier to do this with the heads off?

do i still need to compress the cylinders with air?

if anybody has a guide or some advice it would be greatly appreciated
