Besides the noisy TOB, my SPEC stage 1 always smelled like it was burning up! It never seemed to actually be slipping, but the smell was super annoying! I even called SPEC at one point, and they told me it was normal, at least through the 500 mile break in period, but mine continued on well past that point.

I Loved my Spec Stg 3. I was putting over 600ft/lbs to it and it held up no questions asked. I ran it for 16 months and literally beat the hell out of it, and it looked pretty good when I took it out. If I were putting a 5speed back in the car I would buy another Spec stg 3 for sure.

The feel was really nice and the pedal was surprisingly smooth and manageable even in traffic. But I guess if you don't NEED such a strong clutch, there would be no reason not to pick up the stg 2.

I don't have any experience with any of the other clutches, so maybe I'm biased.

I have a spec stage 3 in my pretty much stock gt w/ a 100 shot. It feels great. I like my car to be responsive....and believe me when i tell you this clutch gets er' movin man. Its feels so much stronger when you drive it for the first time after the install.

I also have a friend who has one on his stang but he also has a billet flywheel which i am not a fan of personally, i feel money could be better spent on smething else.

All in all the spec stage 3 is great, their puck design is excellent.....only worry about their full faced stage 1.....S*H*I*T*S - W*E*A*K....the full face stage anything "PLUS or +" is unknown to me.

Give MaTT R a call at spec hes the man, 1-800-829-4379.
