Default Looking for a 99+ AOD-E

Pretty much as the title says.. I posted on the classifieds, but not sure how many people look...

The Tranny's chattering like a ****, and I have a 1600 Mile drive to make in the next couple months as I move back to Massachusetts...

Don't need the Torque converter, but if you have a combo that has low mileage, I'll take that too.. I live in Florida right now..

Any help is appreciated!!

You are better off takeing yours to a trans shop and have them rebuild it, buy a shift kit for it so they can install that and get a new stall convertor and let them put all that in while they are rebuilding it. I am sure that it will be cheeper than trying to get another used one from somewhere (cost of shipping + install). The trans shop here said they charge 1200 for a rebuild, so if I was you I would get me a good shift kit and stall convertor and let them rebuild it and modd it at the same time. Also get a trans cooler for it too.

I was thinking about having this local shop rebuild it, but here's why I just want a used Tranny now:

A) I am moving out of the area, so basically, if I were to get a warranty, it would be useless, since I'll be living 1600 Miles away.. There's no way I'd trailer my car back to Fla from Massachusetts to have it worked on..

B) I'm at the whim of the local shops here, which usually means that it takes between 2-3 weeks to rebuild one of these trannies, which unfortunately I can't afford to lose my car for that long.

C) The mentioned it would be between $1200 - $3000, depending on parts. Why such a large gap between prices? Hell, most of the generic places like AAMCO and Mr. Transmission offered about $1500 for an OEM Rebuild. I also wanted to have them build an aluminum D/S, and redo my U-Joints.

Other than those things, I think it'd be easier just to purchase a used one from someone, spend a couple hours swapping them out, and be done with it. However, a rebuild may be the only solution..

I appreciate the info though...
