Default My GT's feeling hurt.....

I have a 2003 GT with 30,000 miles. Its 5 speed, and everytime lately when I start from a complete stop and accelerate, my car seems to go and then boggs down when the clutch grabs. I have to let the clutch slip more and more gas when I start off. Its not as smooth as it used to be. It just seems every time I shift and the clutch grabs it boggs my engine down a little bit, (alot in first). I have recently done a couple long burn outs. (me dumping the clutch and then holding the brake and smoking the tires in first) Also I have done a lot of hard launchs and shifting, (racing).

What do you think the reason this is happening???? Is it my clutch or flywheel or pressure plate. Or something with the engine?

Any help would be great, thanks.

I have never changed it, good idea. I was thinking it might be the fuel. Do you think it might be the clutch?

Hard to say if it's the clutch or not, but a cheap check would be the fuel filter. Get a factory filter if you can or a good aftermarket one at the parts house, Wix makes a decent one. You should change them at least every 15,000 miles. Good Luck

Hey Code3gt, how hard are they to change, I am not sure if mine has ever been changed and I have 38k on my car so I wan to change it out and am just wondering if it is someting that I can do or do I need to take it somewhere? (I have installed all the mods on my car myself so I am good at doing things along that line it is just a matter if I can access it or not) Thanks

Not hard at all. It's by the gas tank.

it does sound sort of fuel related since it's at low rpm before building fuel pressure.....and yeah....if you guys have not changed your filters, get on it.

yea, i think i may change my fuel filter out too... my car has 24k miles on it and never has had the fuel filter changed. also, i plan on supercharging soon.... will i have to upgrade the fuel filter when i supercharge the car? if so, what filter should i get? i would rather just get the filter for supercharging the car now instead of getting it later on.

Does anyone have a picture or a more informative way of changing it. My car has 58,000 miles on it and I'm not sure if it's been changed either.
