1. O2 sensor is out.
2. Vacuum leak... <--- doubt this but if 1st one isn't it then try this.

Bank 1 is the passenger side.

Do you have a K&N filter or other after market filter?

Check for vacuum leaks.

If you have no clue what your talking about then don't try to give advice or correct me.

All ford engines bank 1 is the same side as cylinder 1.

Bank 1 is passenger side, check the front O2 sensor on that side.

Well i had the same problem, same code, and it read bank 1 and i changed the drivers O2 sensor and it corrected the problem. But i have heard that it was passenger side that had bank 1 which was what my mechanic told me after i did the job. I cant explain to you anything else but that. I changed drivers and end of problem. Well then, you explain it then. Why did i get bank 1 sensor and changed the drivers and fixed the problem?

You are probably mistaken on what code you had.

A P0171 lean code for bank 1 is the cylinder bank on the RIGHT (passenger) side of the engine on Ford vehicles with a V6 or V8 engine and rear-wheel drive.

A P0174 lean code for bank 2 is the cylinder bank on the LEFT (driver) side of the engine on Ford vehicles with a transverse-mounted V6 engine and front-wheel drive. This code is not set on four cylinder engines (no bank 2).
