I'm stumped

My car is misfiring on the passenger side, all 4 cylinders.

Steps I have taken to find the problem
Compression check, good
Tear down and checked timing, good
pulled the coils and put them in the wifes car and they worked fine
switched the injectors from one side to another and the miss did not follow them
switched the 02 sensors from one side to the other and the miss did not follow them.
Checked spark and getting spark in all of them
Plugs have fuel on them, changed them with new ones still no change.
checked for vacuum leaks and found none

The only thing I can think of now is the computer is dying on me.

Any thoughts.

Was any of your re-wiring done on the Top harness? Also it is possible to switch around the middle injector plugs.

Did you put that little green ground plug back on the firewall side of driver side fuel rail?

Either that or a ECU problem. Sorry to hear about all your troubles.

im banking on ECU or something really small and stupid that you forgot in the excitment.

If your talking about the fuel injection ground that goes on the fuel rail bolt then yes that is on there.

I didn't cut into any of the top harness during the wire tuck.

hey whats your maf read at idle? i believe the eec will still let it run if you unplug it, try unpluging it and seeing if it smooths out.

I think that if it was the maf both sides of the engine would be having problems. I'll try that tomorrow tho just so I tried everything.

didn't you say on the other thread that you got a misfire code on the other bank this time, if so do you think you have induced that misfire by switching the injectors or the o2 sensor or do you think you have an overall lean condition of both banks. do you have any way to moniter the short or long term fuel trims? if you responded to the other post on modularfords sorry if this is a repeat i havnt checkd it.

Had a friend car was fireing but the injectors where not working. Come to find out it was the computer was not recognizing the code in the key.

livefast1 01-28-2009 07:21 PM

that sounds more like a no run condition.
