GT to Cobra -- Engine swap

I have a 01 GT with a blown motor. I found this 01 Cobra engine on ebay..

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/99-01...Q5fAccessories

My mechanical knowledge is very limited and I need to figure out what im going to need along with this engine to make the swap. Do I need a new wiring harness and computer? What problems may I run into?

you can use your stock harness, just needs to be modified for the coil packs and youll have to get your car re-tuned

If thats all I need then I better just go ahead and get the SVT :)

Find out if that's a 99 or an 01. If it's a 99, get the VIN and call Ford to find out if it had "The Fix".

could you bolt that right up using the 3650?

sorry, it was late last night when i posted this. So in theory, I could take the cobra engines from these years and just drop it in on top of my tremec 3650?

I work in alaska 6 months out of the year and when I get back I have a sizeable chunk-o-change. The swap to the cobra seems to be the biggest bang fo your buck mod you are going to get if you find a good deal on a motor.

Yes a cobra will bolt up to your 3650

luckily not 99, both this engine and my gt are 01

"This was removed from a 2001 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra. This engine had 58k miles on it. This was a clean and well maintained car and engine. It tested good, ran great and will make a killer replacement for your blown up or tired 99 - 01 Cobra. This engine is stock. There were no modifications on this vehicle."

When I do buy a new engine, weather it be 2v or 4v, is their anything I should mod on it while I have the engine out?
