Rear-end humming after trac lock rebuild
Recently I've noticed a noise coming from what I think is my rear end. The sound is almost if the trunk isn't completely sealed and air is getting in, but the trunk/seal is fine. Its a real faint humming noise, it increases with speed, does not change when in or out of gear.
I checked the fluid in the rear end and it is full. I just rebuilt the trac lock about 2000 miles ago, refilled it with Mobil 1 synthetic 90-140 and one bottle of friction modifier (i think it was 5oz). What do you guys think is up? Also my rear wheels have not been locking up while turning as quickly as they did the first couple hundred miles after the rebuild. In a straight line I still get two solid lines of rubber, and it will lock up going around turns, just not as easily as right after the rebuild.

The write up I was using said to put in the largest shim that still allows you to put the spider gears in by hand/light tap. Of the shims, this did end up being the biggest one (.40), but it fit just as it said it was supposed to.
I'm not positive that it didn't make this noise up until now, but I've just recently noticed it. Like I said it is barely noticeable. Windows up, stereo off, around 40mph+ you can hear it until wind noise over powers it...
