Default 3v swap question

Ok so i already searched and since the search engine sucks...i'll make a thread..

3v swap into a 2000GT

i know about everything that needs to be done with the exception of two things....

is the wiring any different? injectors, and COP's
do i have to lengthen anything to make it work?

and will the 3v 4.6 bolt right into the 2v motor mounts?

basically i want to make this happen... soon...

1 question:

What's making you go with a 3v over a 4v?

ehh... just something different... plus the aftermarket for these motors is nothing like the 2v and 4v...

but i have found it much easier to find 3v motors than 4v motors

because a 4V is better.

3v blocks do not bolt right up to 99-04 and mounting them requires customization. Logan motor sports makes an adapter kit to throw 3v heads on a 2v block...only downside is losing variable cam timing, something I have considered but my route will likely be Trickflow heads and cams unless the numbers are significantly lower than what I'd get with a 3v swap. Good luck and if you follow through with it keep us updated, especially me

yes 3v sound like poo, but with some careful mid pipe and muffler selection they can sound decent. a 3v setup is a good way to go, the main advantage being in keep the vct. Now that shops know what they are doing 3v heads can flow around 310 cfm ported, and I am unsure about what they do stock but its close to or better than 4vs. Other big advantage is simplicty and cost, porting/cams etc are cheaper and with less weight and half as many moving parts they are bound to be more reliable. The only way to do this swap economically imo is to buy a whole motor, computer and all and swap it out, and use the logan kit for the exhaust and throttle by wire conversion.

The 3v doesn't sound as good because the muffler is right at the end and only about 5 inches of pipe is after it, being the tip. The new edge cars have the mufflers along way before the rear of the car giving a long pipe to make it to the back.
