97Stanger was making decent power with stock pi heads, pi intake and a vortech. And that was all through an auto. I would definitely do the intake but if you're not looking for a monster there really isn't a huge need to swap heads.

Although I wouldn't be too concerned with running a s/c on a pi swap car, Lizzy did it with no problems.

One thing you might want to consider would running Pi cams in the Npi heads. It would be way cheaper then porting and you won't have to take the heads off and spend money on gaskets and suchs. I'm not sure but i think it would put you nice and safely in your power range.

Actually I have a set of Houston Perf blower cams. Thats why I am questioning the need for porting. I think I can get my HP goals without all the swap headache.

You will get your goals but with the severely choked exhaust port of the NPI it will wear out the exhaust valve guides in about 30,000 miles. Depending on how much driving you do that might not matter.
