Exclamation 04 GT running rich and wont idle right...please help

I have an 04 GT that has about 60k on the clock and one day I went to go start it and it wouldn't idle right with the rpm's jumping from idle to 500 to almost 2000...and all I can smell is alot of gas coming from the exhaust

so I tried replacing IAC, EGR valve and fuel filter which didn't fix it...it also isn't throwing any codes.

Thanks for any help...i just want to drive her again

In your sig you have a bunch of stuff recently installed. Did all this happen immediately after installing something (like LT's)?

I guess I should change that since the Longtube headers we're installed in April of 08...never had any problems till now.

Did you do any work on it before this started happening? Seems kind of strange for all this to happen. It sounds possibly like a vaccum leak.

No, but it did sit for about 2 weeks without being started...then I went to start it up then all this happend.

With it only being like 20 degrees here in Nebraska and the o2 sensors are further down on the headers, do you think that just might have something to do with it?

Did you extend the front o2 wires by yourself or did you buy extenders? If something is wrong with your front o2 sensors that could be a possibility of running rich. I don't think having them further downstream would cause your problems.

Yeah I believe so.

It was the wierdest thing...I let it warm up a bit, then drove it round in church parking lot across the street, then let it sit at idle and warm up while it was gaining progress, then finally when it got to operating temprature it kicked out of it and idled/drove like normal.

It was the darnest thing...I sometimes think my car has a mind of its own lol

at least it's taken care of. It's nice when things fix themselves.
