Default Tire Size?

I had a few questions in regards to the tires was getting, i was thinking of getting 275/35/18s (front) and 315/30/18s (rear)

-Is there any rubbing with either of those sizes (in front or back)
-Is 315/30/18 a bid to thin on the the width of the tire, I've heard that with a tire that large the width is the equivalent to say a tire 285-35-18, any truth to this?
-I can get rims 18x9 front and 18x10 or 18x10.5 in the rear (do i really need to go to 10.5 for the 315 tire size)?

the 275's in the front will be fine unless your car is lowered.

With 315/30 i'm not sure about the sidewall being too thin. someone else will have to help you there.

You can mount a 315 on a 10" rim, however there will be more of a "belly" to the sidewall as opposed to the 10.5" rim

I can't answer rubbing questions about those size tires because I don't have that wide of tires but I can tell you that I am lowered with Eibach Sportlines (2" drop) with 255s/285s on Saleen wheels and I don't have any rubbing problems.

About tire sizes, 315 means the tire is 315mm wide. The 30 means that the profile/sidewall is 30% of the tire width. (So 315 x .30 = 94.5mm sidewall. In comparison to a 285/35, 285 x .35 = 99.75mm side wall.) The 5mm is not going to make a significant difference, its only 5% of the sidewall height. And obviously the 18 is the wheel diameter that the tire will fit on.

I have 18x9 and 18x10 rims with 255s/285s right now but for my next set, I'm going with 265s/295s. I guess you COULD mount 315s on 18x10 rims but it will have a bulge (and personally, I don't like the look of that). I would recommend going with 10.5" rims or getting 295s

After I got my 02 GT lowered and got my 18x9s. I went with 265/40/18 BFG KDWs all around.

They were perfect (good enough for the 2000 Cobra R). They had some side wall, making for a "slightly" better ride, and filling up the wheel well nicely and no rubbing.

Also with the same size tires, you can rotate them, and you will handle better in the curves

Just my 2 cents

KDWs have a SICK tread pattern!

Ummmnnn, no.

OP, I'd suggest a 265/35 up front instead of 275s. 275/35s are actually a hair taller than a 315/30.
