Do you really need one when getting different mufflers? i wouldnt mind having one but if i can save a few buck by just buying mufflers i will. so i wont notice any difference in power?

You won't see any real power gains from either. Until you get way up there in HP, the factory cat-back isn't a restriction, you just do it for sound.

Catbacks will step up the diameter of your piping but like Bullit5339 said you won't notice anything in power vs. welding in mufflers.

some ppl just weld in the mufflers they want. A cat back doesn't do much for ya untill u start making some real pwr.

I know for my car I gained from adding a catback. The stock pipe's are so restricted and crap.

lol, seriously!

As for the catback, I put on the Magnapack and I felt about 7-10hp on the butt dyno. I don't know if that's because of the straight through muffler or the larger piping but it will sound better and have more flow capability for when you're making more power, say... a Kenne Bell for example haha

I think it's more of a sound thing than anything.. but I'm preety sure you gain a little over the stock set up. BD if you were to get a catback which one would it be?
