Default Can you pull oil pan in the car?

I'm actually working on a 96 cougar, but i'd like to get an idea of if the pan can come off without pulling the motor in the stangs? if anyone knows specifically about the thunderchickens and cougars that would be even better

Yup, either drop the K-member or lift the motor out a few inches. My Tbird needs a new pan but JB Weld will have to do.

yeah i was just under the car, no way in hell its coming up without lifting motor. thats ok though, whoever worked on the car before me screwed up the timing chains and its smacking valves. i know there has to be some bent ones, and the motor has 177,000 miles on it so we'll be getting a junk yard motor.
