PI Swap: Whats involved?
Can you swap an entire PI motor into a non-PI car without any other modifications? does all the wiring still work? the car in question is a 96 cougar and if we can put a slighty newer motor in we'll have a better chance of finding one with lower miles and pick up a couple HP in the process.
if the whole motor isnt a direct swap, i'll probably just stick with a non-PI motor. performance isnt an issue, but if its easily gotten then "why not"

The first question that comes to my mind is the intake manifold. What kind of intake does the cougar use? Is it similar to the mustang or completely different. Because if you use a PI engine you're old intake won't work with the different head ports of the PI heads. So you will need to do something there or run a mustang intake.

normally when you buy a junk yard motor it comes with the intake, throttle body, and any sensors attached to the motor so thats not a problem. what i dont know is if all of these various sensors and such are the same or in the same place as the non-pi motors.

That's what I was ask lol. I don't know if there is a difference, I just thought it would be something to look into. Looking at pictures, they look fairly similar.
That link I gave you should address all of the other questions on the swap.
