Default bought a new shortblock...question!

hey guys i just ordered my new shortblock from MMR. I got the Mod800 with the side bolts, arp mainstuds, and the mmr oil pump. The one thing i didnt order and im not sure if i should is their heavy duty head gaskets. The question i have is do i have to buy theirs for 170 bucks when i can buy the Felpro severe duty head gaskets for 49 a pop. Just a bit confused. Now the thing is they recommend their gasket for boosted applications but i will not be running anything but the 8 psi pulley and ill be back in cali soon so i figured that the felpro gasket is good enough....? Arent ford head gaskets pretty good? Thanks for any input.

Dave

i would go for theirs cause i have had a couple friends have bad luck with the severe duty gaskets i would rather be safe than sorry head gaskets are a bitch on these motors specially if you are using head studs

oh ok gotcha. Well i was just thinking that they could've been the same gasket and they were just overpricing it so i was just trying to make sure. Anyone else have any experience with these?

Because you have to lift the heads straight off to clear the head studs instead of pulling out the bolts and lifting the heads up.

Head gasket is not something to cheap out on. After throwing down all the money for that block, why risk having to pull it again cause you wanted to save $100.00 ? You're running some boost and if you want to turn it up someday (it always happens), you'll be sweating not putting the good gasket in.

But really is worth saving the $100.00 ? There's never any good reason to cheap out on a gasket...
