rear end creaking...

rear end creaking...
It started about two months ago, when I apply the brakes when stopped (the only time you can hear it), you can hear something from the rear of the car making a creaking noise. Any variance in brake pressure can cause the noise.
I also realized last week when I had the car up in the air, if you push the rear wheels out, away from the car, the creaking noise is duplicated.
All the lugs are tights and the brakes are working fine... the only thing I think it may be is I took the brakes apart to remove my axles about 2 months ago, and when re-installing the brake pads I did not use any "brake grease" between the part where the caliper and the metal part on the pads touch (where the pads slide when the brakes are being applied).
I never knew they sold grease for this until about a week ago I saw a brake "kit" in the auto store that came with it... Is this something that is normally used?

You should always clean and lube up the slides where the pads rest whenever you have em off.. That could very well be the cause of the noise. Does it creak when you push down on the truck or rear? I had a horrible creak in my car, replaced the rear control arms and it was dead silent. I'd say pull the calipers off, get a wire brush and clean the slides. then slap some kind of lube on there (theres tons of **** ppl will tell you to use) I either use Dielectric grease or anti-seize.. See if that solves anything. Also, make sure the pins arent locked up on the caliper bracket. They rust and freeze up
