hhhhhheeeeeelllllllpppppp!!!!! I have a 99 gt and am having major problems. Today when i got into my car to leave it would not start... The instrument cluster shows no signs of life when the key is in the "run" position. My odometer reading is completly blank, no seatbelt light, check engine light or anything. I also noticed that my fuel pump does not prime. The starter turns over but the car does nothing. After leaving the key in the run position for appx. 60 seconds, all the gauges light up, and the odometer shows "------". The car continues to turn over but wont start, wont even give you the hope of starting. the a/c fan will blow but is stuck on defrost. I was told this may be a ecu problem, any suggestions?
Could very well be your ecu, but i would look over all the small things before u jump to conclusions, check your grounds and fuses then work from there.
Checked ALL grounds, checked all fuses, replaced all relays..... the only thing i havn't done is take it to the dealership!!! Im scared too b/c im all out of vaseline.....
pop your trunk, there is a switch behind the drivers taillight, it is a fuel pump reset switch, try that, it is supposed to help start your car if that happens, if nothing, vaseline time
Check the battery voltage while cranking--if it's falling much under 11.0V then the battery is bad. This same thing happened to me when the OEM battery developed a shorted cell, it would crank but not start with all the symptoms you describe...
how do u know you have no fuel and no spark? the only thing i can think of besides an electrical issue that would take out fuel, spark and give u that cluster display is the ecu.
