Question Need some INFO, Calling all 99-04 gt owners!~

i test drove a 2002 mustang gt today. It had 61,200 miles on it and it was a 5 speed dead stock. All the gauges and accessories worked perfectly, the clutch and brakes were good, but i watched the oil pressure gauge, it just barely moved while i was getting on it and letting off etc...ive driven chevy blazers and the oil pressure shoots to the moon when u hammer it then when u let off it went back to normal, i was just unsure if this was normal, or if it was supposed ot stay put again, it barely moved, couldnt really tell unless you stared at it. Also, it could use an oil change soon and i pulled the cap off the valve cover and there was a little bit of this puke colored stuff in the cap, what was that? Thanks guys, really need the advice

The oil pressure gauge is a dummy gauge. It just activates when you have atleast 12psi. Sounds like it needs a new pcv valve.

Did you test drive it from a dealer or a private owner? Either way before I buy I would have them fix any issues that you see that's wrong with the car, espcially the oil pressure guage.

it is a private owner and i would be robbing the car off of him for 5400, the car runs flawlessly, i just didnt no if that oil pressure guage was a big deal, again it barely moves, its soo slight, didnt know if this is a big issue, and what should i replace? thanks in advance

Hey man really don't think it's a big deal but for 5,400 bucks sounds kinda to good to be true.... I would get her checked out but seems like it has low miles and you say it runs flawlessely. I say go for it before somebody else does.....
