Default tri ax problem maybe?

so i put my steeda tri-ax in a few months ago and since day one it has made this terrible grinding noise in 5th gear.. tonight i finally got tired of it so im goin to pull it out tomorrow.. does anyone have any ideas on what the problem could be.. I know that the short shifters do make noise but it is only in 5th gear and it sounds terrible.. so any help would be appreciated.

thanks

I know what you are talkin about... its not the trans grinding, its the base of the shifter rattling. I dont know what to tell you or how to solve it, dimebag's pro5.0 does the same thing. It just makes an annoying *** rattle right at the base when your cruising.

The most common fix is to buy an MGW.

was the tri-ax new or used when installed? ...just make sure that the stops are adjusted correctly as stated ^^^

...maybe put the stock shifter back in and see what happens!?
