Default Help Me Find What This Is

OK, i'm new here, but i really need input on something that just happened to me. I had a mechanic change my head gaskets on my 97 gt, the car has the PI Windsor heads on it, after he was done with the assembly, he started the car, and it started making a tapping sound, for lack of a better word, he said it was just taking time to pump oil, and sure enough, it still did it, and said it was the rockers on the heads, is that a possibility or can it be the piston hitting the valves?

here is a video to help you guys out:

My guess is that its the rockers. Pistons would sound totally different and much worse.

Nice video, but I 'd have to agree with Steve, as in if it were a piston, it would have half the speed of the knock that you are having, (4 stroke) It would also sound deeper, but when you panned around to the right side, the noise was more obvious. And the missfire is probably a result of the mechanical issue at hand. Just thinking out loud, are all the coils seated on the plugs and not losing spark before the plug? Because your battery was shaking pretty good. Good luck that sux!!

That's a horrible sound. #1 if you paid someone to do a head gasket (and it wasn't making that sound before) then that mechanic had better be fixing that problem. he did something wrong.

no, it wasnt doing that before but the mechanic that took off the heads took off the cams to get to the head bolts, then put the cams back on, the mechanic that put the heads however, says its the rockers or something, he checked the timing, did a compression test and everything
