Default Stock Headers Question

I want to finish my exhaust off with longtubes and a shorty mid pipe, but my buddy will give me his bbk o/r x pipe tomorrow for 50 bucks. (hes gotta replace it all back to stock for insurance reasons).

My question is, can I bolt this shorty x-pipe directly into the stock heads or will I need to wait until I get aftermarket longtubes?

thanks.

I don't think the shorty mid pipe will work with the stock manifolds. Since you plan on doing LTs later, you could just put the shorty mid pipe aside somewhere until then.

The mid pipe your buddy is giving you IS the shorty mid pipe for LTs, right?

The exact terminology can be a little misleading. Shorty headers (stock manifolds) and a Shorty mid pipe can seem like they might go together at a quick glance.
