Default TB question..

Ok.. my car is an auto 04 GT.. my friend has an 02 auto gt .. We both only have a catback and intake in... SLP loudmouth catback and K&N CAI... hmm well..he just put a 75mm TB on and I keep coming across with the argument of how it really dosen't make a big differance unless you have major mods done to your car... Now im wondering should I or should I not also upgrade my TB.. is it worth it? I mean yea.. hes saying oh its so worth it... I get a quicker Response from the throttle.. blah blah blah.. Idk.. help me out here guys!

if your going to upgrade the tb upgrading the plenum is must with it. Just upgrading the tb wont be much of a noticeable diffrence.

I got it and it was worthy. But with your mods I'd go better with gears. Then I'd worry about the TB and Plenum.

T/Bs are proven to only add about 2-3 RWHP. Even with a full intake package (filter to the upper plenum) they don't do much. The only reason I did mine was because I was planning on more mods down the road.

I don't think T/Bs do much until about 400 RWHP. There are greater restrictions in the intake than the T/B, and I didn't notice any difference in "throttle response" everyone says they do. On a nearly stock car, all the "difference" you notice is the fact you just put something new on your car and are excited about it.

If your car is nearly stock, you might want to consider a 70mm TB as opposed to the 75mm. Unless of course there are plans for forced induction in your future...
