Default Dropping the tranny

I know that your SUPPOSED to remove the LTs to get the tranny out and before I have done that. I now have access to a shop for 1 day with a 2 post lift, air tools, and tranny stand/jack. Has anyone had any luck with removing the trans while keeping the headers in place. I know I am at disadvantage b/c the LTs are not Mac, they are BBK, but I could of swore I heard of a few people that have had luck with removing the trans with the headers on. Tips? Suggestions? Ideas? I really do not want to waste time with removing the k-member and LTs b/c I already have to replace the clutch assembly as well as the bellhousing and clutch fork and I only have 1 day to do so.

Wink raise the front of engine

One thing to help this go ALOT easier is to raise the front of the engine. When you tilt the front of the engine upwards the angle is alot easier to drop the tranny with the headers in it. Make sure you have the tranny support loose before you tilt engine. If removing the tranny while low to the ground, just a jack and some wood blocks should do fine. Hope this helps.

thought the DS was the bitch with its large protrustion, but hell I guess around the starter is a pretty large intrusion as well. **** I may just try and swindel the headers loose and leave them hanging maybe. I dont know, but I sure as **** dont want to **** with the k member again.
