Default muffler swap

im thinking about just swapping out my stock mufflers for either super 40's or 44's. i will leave the stock pipes and im wondering if i need a 2.25" inlet and outlet or 2.5"? are there any advantages to going with the 44's over the 40's, they are the same price.

No advantages or disadvantages over the mufflers but I would go with the 40's. 2.25" inlet should be fine, but most muffler shops can make 2.5" work with a little custom fab job.
