wrong, the hardest part is tearing the trans apart and installing the upgraded parts. if you dont have experience doing this and a ford manual you can get in over your head very quickly.

$800? Good lord that's a lot. I'd love to do that myself, but that sort of work is way out of my league.

Man, I really don't know if it's the syncros. Reason being as that it only seems to happen when it's cold out. It was chilly yesterday and it was doing it, but today it was in the 60's and it shifted beautifully. Seems like everything works in my car better when it's 60-70 degrees out versus hotter or colder weather. Not sure how weather could possibly affect it though, unless it's just a coincidence.

thats how it starts, when i first noticed it on mine it was the first 30 degree day in november, and it actually popped out of second gear after i shifted and let out the clutch. i also had gear clash on the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts. then i looked up the tsb and there it was, all of the symptoms i was having. look around on here and im sure you will find others who had the same problems. i see a post on it about once a month.

Interesting. I'll keep an eye on it for the next week or so.

One last question, for now at least, these synrcos... are there syncros for every gear (1st gear syncros, 2nd gear syncros, etc.) or is it just one part? The reason I'm asking is that I can get parts at wholesale price and I could probably order them that way instead of through the dealer.

If you can get the tranny out by your self it kight be easier for u to just replace the tranny for a used one and sell the one u have.

a used trans would be easier, but just about all the 3650's had this problem so you could get another bad trans.

i believe the kit for the tsb came with all the syncros and redesigned 2nd and 3rd gears. i dont know if you can get away with just changing the syncros, or if the problem will come back later because you didnt change the gears as well.
