Cool rear end gears

ok so i bought myself a set of 4.10 gears and they have arrived woohoo... but now i realized most shops are telling me they need the master bearing kit and need the shims to install. does this mean i have to buy both kits on american muscle. to have someone install them.

Not always, but to do it right you should get that too. Some shops have the kits in stock, but I would say get the bearing kit yourself.

they have what's called a Master Install Kit, which comes with all the bearings, and the shims.

Yea if the shop has it in stock get them to put it in. You can do it without changing the bearings but when it comes to gears you want everything to be perfect cause theyre very sensitive to misalignments. Also, if a shop says they would put the gears in wihout changing the bearings I would be scared of that shop and ? theyre trustworthyness.

OP IMO if you're gonna do it, do it right. Get the master kit.
