when to tune??
ok so i am basically retarded when it comes to tuners. I just ordered a prof products t/b plenum setup and i am also running a custom ram air setup on my GT. So my question is with all this air going into my engine when should i tune?? does all this air make a difference in my air/fuel ratio?? please do not flame to hard like i said i am tuner retarded.

Your MAF should adjust for that easily.
The general rule for when to get a tuner, in my opinion, is when you do something that requires it. Off-Road H or X pipe, where you can turn off the rear O2's, or a gear change, so you can adjust your speedo.
You won't get a lot of horsepower increase out of it at that point, but at least it's worth spending the money then, and you only have to buy it once.

The OEM tune is a very conservative, 87 octane tune. If you are willing and able to spend another $3 to $4 a tank for gas a 93 octane tune will add 7 to 10 HP peak to a dead stock GT, and more importantly 5 to 15 HP (depending on the rpm and how good the tune is) to the mid and upper mid-range. This is real grunt where it can be used on the street.
If you are somehow perversely married to 87 octane then don't bother to get a tune until you add something that screws up performance, otherwise a 93 octane tune should be one of the first mods, second only to a 2-1/2" H or X-pipe and a 2-1/2" catback...
