Default 3 bolt or 4 bolt C/C Plates

I'm just wondering what the advantage of a 4 bolt is over 3 bolt. I know coilovers can only be used on 4 bolt systems, but other than that whats the difference.

4 bolt is stronger and less prone to c/c plate flexing when hitting pot hole and stuff ive heard. just get the maximum motorsport 4 bolt ones it take 5 mins to drill a hole

I have a set of MM ones and I bent them... dont ask. Those Duke boys would be proud. YeeeeHaaw.

I was actually surprised Griggs switched back to a 3 bolt design.

Because they said if for some reason the shocks do bottom out a 4 bolt can do a significant amount of damage to the strut tower and somehow the three bolt doesn't.

Dont ask me why or how, that's just what i read.

most the pice ive seen of tower damage were from the three bolt ones breaking the tower where the 4th bolt would go since there is no support there
