Well for a smoother HP curve get it tuned w/ a Y band, for a choppy one that might gain you 6 HP at the top but lose 2 here and there go to a dyno.

a dynotune would do you well but like they are saying, don't expect too much gain right now. If you do more mods, you will need another tune or so. I pay $85 for 3 pulls, & the guy has the SCT software too. I had J.D. from SCT give me my first dynotune, but I have to get another one on Friday.

Dont get your car Dyno tuned. That will only show you peak and it will only be good for 1/4 mile racing. If you know anyone w/ a Y band and a laptop that knows how to tune its alot better and accurate to do it on the street. You want your HP on a dyno to look like a really good curve, but it will look really choppy. But getting it tuned on the street w/ a Y band and someone who knows how it will be a heck of alot smoother and more power throughout the entire power band.
Ok, don't take this wrong, but...you have no idea what you are talking about reguarding dynotunes.

Ok, you should explain to me. I talked to a guy who has a 10 second cobra and he told me tune it w/ a Y band and a computer instead of a dyno for the HP curve that i stated earlier, explain to me how im wrong. I'll take everything into consideration because after my swap i need to get my car tuned and im not sure if im gonna take it to a dyno or that guy w/ the cobra. So please inform me.

I serously doubt tht you r going to get your car tune for $95. I think all you r going to get is a couple of passes and that's it.

I am getting my car Dyno "tuned" on fri. at the local shop here for $150. (actually I am tradeing him my stock rims/tires for him to install my u/d pullys and dyno tune it!!) I think it is a great deal, one tire has a slow leak and one is pretty much bald. can not wait to take it to the track on fri. night.

OK first off you are talking about a WIDE BAND o2 Sensor, not a Y band. Tuning on a dyno can simulate real driving conditions and if the curve is choppy it is because there is somthing funny going with A/F ratio. Trust me I use a dyno all the time, it really is the best way to dial in the car. The guy with 10 sec. might have a fast car and he may have tuned it on the street with a wide band, but I would be willing to bet he has left at least 20-30 hp on the table. My point is if using a wide band to tune a car is so great why do we (meaning me and teamate) along with almost every other NMRA racer use dynos to tune our cars?

That price is probably just for 3 pulls on the dyno and does not include tuning. The tuning will take a couple hours minimum, so if thats all they charge I would jump on it. It sounds to me like there is some confusion here.
