throttle body

I have an '00 GT and wanted to add a throttle body (probably 75mm) but i have a friend with a '97 cobra and he has a BBK throttle body and says that when he hits the gas quickly and lets off his RPMs go really high even though he had already let off the gas, is this true? are there any bad side effects with a throttle body?
Also, I was thinking about acufab, are they any good?

Thanks, Joey S.

RE: throttle body

Tb on a stock plenum = worthless. You need to do both at the sametime. Check out rpmoutlet.com for some different packages.

There is an issue with TB and plenum changes of idle hang from about 1800-1000 after lifting on the throttle. This is fixed by restricting the IAC valve and can be done numerous ways.

RE: throttle body

YOu may find it neccessary to tweak your idle and restrict your IAC. Easiest way to restrict your IAC is go to hardware store and buy a dozen cheap copper caps the diameter that will fit inside your IAC rubber hose. Drill different sized holes in each cap. Trial and error. Don't let any shavings or crap get into your intake!!! Too much restriction = poor / low idle espeically when cold or running A/C. Too little restriction = doesn't help your throttle / RPM hanging problem. Hope this helps (voice of experience).
