Question Question about exhaust.. ??

Hi everyone.. this is probably a really dumb question but... I have a 2004 GT with magnaflow catback exhaust. The rest of the car is completley stock. I am really not satisfied with how loud it is.. and I would like to put an offroad x-pipe on it. I am looking at this one in particular http://www.americanmuscle.com/pypes-...-or-xpipe.html. My question is.. is this basically plug and play? It says on there that it requires shorty headers? But I really cant afford to dish out for the x-pipe AND headers right now.. can I just put this on with my stock headers?

They will bolt up just fine. And make your car a bit louder.

You will need MIL eliminators, or a tuner to turn off your rear 02 sensors, otherwise your CEL will be on.

hm. what about an off road H-pipe? that one says it requires long tube headers.. would that also bolt up fine with stock headers? And which do you think would sound better with my magnaflow magnapack catback.. an off road x or h pipe?

Shorty headers and stock exhaust manifolds require the same midpipe, the first link you posted is the correct one.

all you have to do is go and find a o/r h or x that DOESN"T say require use of long tube headers....or mid length...i personally think a O/R x would be the better of the two...they sound great on 4.6's...also, shop around to save some money...upr sells an excellent bolt in x pipe, i have installed 3 of them and i love em...you can beat it. uprproducts.com

Personally after having an o/r x on my last car, and a o/h on my new car, i prefer the hpipe. Less rasp, deeper sound. But i know alot of people who like the rasp of the xpipe.

+1 on the h-pipe epecially with a chambered muffler (Flows, etc.,) OP I bought my o/r h-pipe from summit for about a 100 bucks. I was going to go with a name brand (BBK) but was informed that preety much all h-pipes perform and sound the same.
