Default help with install

ok so this coming monday i will be installing my bbk longtube headers finally. I will have a lift to use to put the car on also. My question is, what would be the easiest way to drop the k-member off the car while on the lift. I have found this write up (http://www.mikefordmustang.com/write...mustang-gt.php) but dont know if i actually have to do all of this while having the car up on the lift. So if anyone could point me in the right direction to what exactly i have to do to get the k-member off on the lift i would greatly appreciate it.

cause i was talking to the guy at the shop i whose lift i will be using. and he said that we could probably support the motor with a trans stand while putting like a block of wood under the oil pan and supporting it like that. so could i just do it like this and loosen the k-member while up on the lift and then go from there? but is it necessary to remove all the things listed on the page to remove the k-member? or what exactly do i need to remove to just get the k member off

technically your not to support motor by oil pan, but a lot of people have done it..including me.

Now with the K member the best write up I have seen is this:

http://www.mustanghowto.com/suspensi...g/TubularK.htm

It's to put in a tubular k, but same idea applies

if you already have it yeah but I would probably just use a 8"x8" piece of lumber, distribute the weight as much as you can to avoid damage

when i dropped my k member i did it on the floor... me and my stepdad went and bought 12 inch allthread rod and where the bolts on the k member are now we replaced them with the allthread. lowered the k member to the end of the 12 inch run and it was enough to get to what we were doing. ( in this case was the headers and the oil pan, after sending the jack through the pan......)
