MIL Eliminator's or Programmer for Pipes?
#11
First, the rear sensors malfunctioning, or perceived by the PCM to be malfunctioning, will not cause the PCM to go into "limp" mode--all it will do is fire the SES lamp.
Second, an o/r H or X-pipe will only add noise. There is little to no appreciable power gain to be had with an o/r pipe vs. a catted 2-1/2" midpipe--however if you wish to persist there is also no need for perfboard and terminal blocks.
Here's my $5 DIY MIL eliminator solution...
As to emissions testing, it depends on what state you live in, and whether they do a "load-of-crap-so-we-can-collect-some-bucks" OBDII "readiness check" or real testing.

Also, as you said, the tuner is a tool that will keep on giving.
Many scoff at the idea of tuning a stock car, and rather than argue the point I often keep quiet about it--then again many, many don't know what they are talking about...

CliffyK said no power gains when going to an aftermarket pipe.......
I dont know about you buy my mustang has 2 precats + 4 cats = 6 cats in the way of exhaust flow. I should get more power gain than a set of headers. Im thinking about 10 hp max but thats some hella power/$ ratio. 10 HP $150 for pipe and install minus $100 for cats at scrap yard = 10 hp for $50 in about 30 minutes.

Am I just looking in the wrong spots, or does nobody sell MIL elims anymore?
Only place I found them was American Muscle, but they say they will only work for 96-04 GT's or something like that.
Anyone know if/why these MIL elims would not work for a 99 Cobra?
Thanks
