I would politely suggest if the OP is running a stainless O/R H pipe then he should have it wrapped in header wrap. It would create a slightly more friendlier tone by insulating the thin wall of the H pipe. Although respectively it wont do much for the real tone coming from the mufflers themselves.

Have a nice day!

a nice set of super 44 flows or a mac catback would help alot. although it will still be loud..no where near as loud as your SLP's.

Would putting mufflers on the car make it much quieter? If not, I'll just put the stock mid-pipe back on for now and buy a high flow x pipe next month or something. As for now, the car is loud enough to wake the dead lol

Don't know if this is hating or not but before you went with your current exhaust set up did you ask anybody how it would sound? No doubt I was going with flows and was all set on going with a x-pipe but was informed that flows (being chambered) will sound raspy coupled with a x-pipe... Glad I listened. Car sounds real mean especially with the headers..

Soldier GT mentioned that the chambered mufflers has the "raspy" sound. I thought it was the other way around, the non baffled has the raspy sound and the baffled like flows has the deep muscle car sound right??

I have the magnaflow catback w/the magnapacks & when I added the o/r h pipe I wasn't quite prepared for how loud it was. I'm most likely going to swap out the 'packs for some flows at some point.

So I guess I'll try mufflers. Anyone have a preference as to what is most quiet or sounds better? I read on here super 44's I didn't think of those, I was originally thinking Original 40's or MAC.

ALSO, with the black smoke, will that stain my paint? I've seen cars out there like civics with big tips, that have black on the paint around the muffer

You probably don't want flows, because they rust really fast and have drone issues. I was looking at a set of SLP Powerflow's because I need a quiet exhaust system. But i have no idea how they sound with an o/r h-pipe, its always hard to find videos of the powerflows.

So I'm looking at MAC's I guess haha, one last question I swear!! Someone just told me the O/R pipe can hurt my engine compression ratio? True? I don't think so being that so many people have O/R pipes, or do I need a tune to fix that? I don't know but I'm always eager to learn.
