strang noise need help

Default strang noise need help

i started her up today and i heard this noise coming from my k&n intake filter. It caused my rpms to hang and at times SLOWLY increased my rpms...it was a loud humming sound and it was definately coming from the filter. any ideas? i recently took my tb and plenum off to clean. all info is appreciated

That is strange. Are you sure it's coming directly from the "filter"?

yea i put my head up to the filter when it happened and sure enough it was coming from the filter..i have no idea what it could be

It's not coming from your filter, your filter allows air to pass through easily, so it's going to allow noise to pass through easily. Make sure your intake tubing is tight before and after your MAF and make sure it is connected to your TB good. Sounds like you have a leak somewhere.

Yeah, your filter shouldn't make any noise. Like Dan said, make sure everythings nice and tight with no air leaks. If you still think it's the "filter" after that than I would say get a new filter and see how that works. Can pretty much guarantee that it wouldn't make a difference though.
