The iat? Some people put a rubber bung in there pipe and it works fine. Other pipe weld a threaded small piece of pipe onto there intake and screw it in there.

Like jvog as mentioned you want to put the IAT sensor reasonable close to the throttle plate, that way the EEC has the most accurate temperature reading as the air is enter in the engine.
