Default coil packs?

my car's runnin like sh!$, heard it could be a or several coil packs. are there aftermarket ones or should i just use replacement oem ones? 1 more quick question. went to get my car inspected and failed due to no cats. one shop wanted to charge $1000 to install the factory 4 or 6 cats. cant i buy a pre fabbed exhaust w/the single cats on it, if so where and how much?! thanks guys in advance!!

You need to find out for sure if it's coil packs? If it is, don't go with aftermarket ones! Just replace them with OEM.

pull the packs n plugs, check the packs for cracking on the top. I just replaced all 8 in my bud's f150. 7 out of the 8 were cracked. I bought oems off ebay new with warranty for 82 bux shipped. search for dg508. thats the model number.

OEMs, but don't waste the money unless you know they're bad. Ford can do a load test on them and tell you exactly which ones don't meet specs. Sometimes, like mine, they will fire enough to keep a CEL from coming on, but it'll still run like crap.

for the cat issue, you could just be a catted x or h pipe. pypes sells clamp on cats that you can just cut out a section of your mid pipe and clamp the on for the inspection. i would never pay some rip off shop a $1000 to put on cats. they are just trying to steal your money. catted mid pipes are around $300 depending on brand. buy oem cop's, you cant go wrong with them.
