If this is a non pi car with the plastic coolant crossover tube on the intake, I would almost bet the intake is what it is. Time for a new pi intake swap...
No, but if he was spraying down the engine bay then it could have been.

+1 to everything else. White smoke kinda tells me that your burning coolant somehow. Be sure to check your oil (like stated above) and see if it looks milky. Also check your coolant and see if your running low, and do an overall good inspection of your motor. Keep us posted.

Checked it out, and sure enough there's a crack in my intake. Would that cause all of that stuff to happen? Checked the oil, and it seemed fine.

My friends mustang did that a time or two. Started funny, and smelled like sulfur. Rattled a lot as well. It did it twice on his and never did it again. Strange but it could just be a freak thing. Maybe you have a clogged injector or one that's leaking down and injecting when it's not supposed to. that's all I could come up with for freak things.

yes because it was probably sucking a ton of coolant through it. Once the system gets heated there is a ton of pressure in the cooling system. So much that its prone to cracking the intake manifold. I bet coolant was spraying through it pretty good and is causing your other issues. If it were me I would replace the intake manifold, gasket, thermostat, and spark plugs while I was in there. Reset the computer by taking off the negative battery cable and leaving it off for more than 5 minutes. Codes should be gone and it should run good as new.

Yeah, that's why I was kind of wary to take it down to Autozone to get the codes checked out. Can I put on a PI intake without other PI parts? I've heard mixed things about putting one on with non-PI heads.

yes you can put the intake on the stock heads. Ive heard nothing but good things about the pi intake swap. Read through this link. It tells all about it...https://mustangforums.com/forum/4-6-...ap-how-to.html
