Default 4 clutch cables in a yearr?

Im convinced theres somehting wrong now...i just snapped my 4th cable this year, this one being a steeda, the previous being adjustable cables and stock. I have a firewall adjuster and triple hook quadrant. it is snapping around the end at the quadrant everytime where the cable is bound together. could my quadrant be doing this...upr is pretty reputable.

Probably the way you are routing the cable. It should run right next to the oil pan.

Default quadrant

It is the quadrant. I have the triple pickup from UPR and snapped two of them. When I called they told me that they had experienced problems with the quadrant cutting through the cable and they now have a new design. I have not had any problems since I installed the new design.

I've had the same problem with my steeda cable/quadrant. Luckily i've caught it before it snapped. It looks like the edge of the quadrant rubs the cable and eventually cuts through it. Bluestang, do you have a link or any pictures of the new design from UPR? I'd be interested to see how it is different.

that makes sense, get a quadrant without sharp edges, there only like 40 bucks.

Where is it snapping the cable at, near the trans or is it at the top where the quadrant is.

When mine broke it, it broke at the transmission. but I would definitely look into the quadrant issue if that is where it keeps breaking.

Sounds like bad adjustment/bad routing of the cable. If you have it in gear and push the clutch in then rev it does the car start to move? With a dirty input shaft it usually means the clutch is not fully disengaging .

Default quadrant

I dont have any pics but I put them next to each other when I got it and it is a little larger and the tips are more rounded. The old style had sharp edges and just cut through the cable little by little.
