Is it just my car or do you notice this in your Mustang too? I am speaking of my 1999 GT. Power is decent for a SOHC engine, but I get a noticeable kick at 4000-4200rpm. Other people ask me if I have a turbo or something. Power increases through out the rpm range like it should, but at 4k rpm it jump up and scats pretty well. I am not complaining, but it is very noticeable. I noticed this before mods, but it is even more noticeable with them. Anyone else experience this?

mine starts to kick in about 3200 and pulls like hell til 5300 the tires start hopping at about 4k in first on mine or so but yea its normal id say just part of the power band

Mine is like jkm. It start pulling harder after 3000-3200 rpm. I loe the kick you get of it.

Yeah mine kicks at about 3500 rpm at WOT and pulls harder all the way till it shifts!! I also had someone ask me if I had a turbo or something because they could hear the difference when I got to that rpm range. So I will agree that it is a normal mustang thing!!

That is because of the power curve. It falls on it face after 5500., hence the 5700 recommended shift point.
